Yes. Most students taking 1.5 credits or more (full-time) are automatically enrolled. The plan gives you up to $750 in dental coverage per year through Desjardins Insurance.
Students taking fewer than 1.5 credits aren’t automatically covered, but may be able to self-enrol during the Change-of-Coverage Period if they’re eligible. Continuing studies and distance education students aren’t eligible for the plan. You must also have provincial or equivalent primary healthcare coverage (such as OHIP or UHIP) to be eligible.
It’s the short time at the start of the school term when you can opt out or enrol yourself (if not automatically covered). You can also enrol your spouse or kids during this time.
